What’s Two-Factor Authentication (2FA) and how does it work with Monex USA Online?
Two-factor authentication (2FA) adds an extra layer of security to protect your online accounts and your password. In addition to requesting something you know to log in (in this case, your password), an account protected with 2FA will also request information from something you have (usually your phone or an Authentication app).
Once you put in your password, you’ll grab a code from a text or app on your phone or plug in your security key before you are allowed to log in. Even if someone gets your password, they will not be able to access your accounts unless they also have access to your mobile device or security key.
Let’s walk through how to add 2FA to your Monex USA Account:
1 — Click User Settings under your Monex USA Online Account Profile
2 — Click on Security, then Enable your preferred 2FA method
Congratulations, you’ve secured your account with 2FA!
We like knowing your accounts are extra secure—that’s why we make sure to offer you the latest security features. We hope you’ll take (or have taken) a few minutes to follow the steps above to help us further secure your account. As of December 1st, 2022, all Monex USA online accounts will require 2FA, so if you haven’t yet turned on 2FA by then, you will be prompted to do so the next time you log in to your account.
