We take the security of your information very seriously—which is why we're happy to share extra ways to safeguard your account.
These quick steps make it harder for anyone who might try to gain access to your account without your approval.
Here are the top three ways you can help add extra security to your account:
1 — Turn on Two-Factor Authentication (2FA)
Two-factor authentication requires anyone who tries to log into your account to have two things: a unique access code generated by your mobile device and your secure password. This enables an extra layer of security as you will receive immediate notification if someone is trying to access your account, and they will not be able to log in without both pieces of information under your control.
2 — Set & Protect a Strong Password
When choosing a password, you’ll want to stay far away from using any obvious or easily guessed words and/or phrases. Avoid using any personal information and explore your creativity with unique combinations of numbers, words, and special characters. Try to reach at least 12 to 14 characters with your password choice and never share your logins and/or passwords with anyone.
3 — Practice Email Safety
While our inboxes can get crowded, you need to carefully sort through each and every email you receive. Be wary of spam emails and always try to confirm the sender’s email is correct. Look for any unusual characters and/or misspellings that may try to mimic email addresses you have safely received in the past. Log out or lock your computer or mobile device—even if you’re just grabbing a cup of coffee. If you’re suspicious of an email, be sure to alert your IT department and do not click on any links or download any attachments.
We like knowing your accounts are extra secure—that’s why we make sure to offer you the latest security features. We hope you’ll take a few minutes and follow the steps above to help us further secure your account.
